How it all Started

My own personal birth experiences coupled with being present as labour support for some very important people in my life has helped me to find my calling.  For many years, I was a Doula and I didn't even know it!  I love being able to provide knowledge and hold space for birthing individuals and their families during the most momentous occasion in their lives.

My Experience and Mission

In addition to being a birth and postpartum Doula and a fully insured member of the Association of Ontario Doulas, I am also a childbirth educator and certified car seat technician with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada. I have spent 20+ years working with children as a dance educator, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts from York University.  I transitioned into Doula work after the birth of my own children opened my eyes to the experiences so many families face. It is my focus and goal to help fill the gaps in our current healthcare system so that families walk out of their birth experiences feeling heard, empowered and like the strong confident individuals they are.

Family Life

I have an amazing, supportive family that includes my partner of 24 years and our two boys ages 11 and 16. Together, we have built a very happy life in Halton region, but don’t let that fool you, I go where the babies are born and where families need me most! I am lucky to have a family that never tires of constant talk of all things birth. I love how curious my children are about my job and how generous they are in letting me share my time with so many amazing families.

We cannot say enough good things about Nicole. When we met her for the first time we instantly felt connected to her: she is warm, funny, empathetic and passionate about her work! She was always a calming voice of reason when we needed her to be, and our biggest advocate as well. I remember being in the hospital and seeing Nicole's face as she walked into the room. Having her by my side during labour, placement of my epidural, helping me work through tough decisions and finally helping me latch my newborn baby were all things I know I would have struggled with without her. She will always hold a special place in our hearts! So much so that we rehired her for the pregnancy and birth of our second baby. Although things were different with Covid, again her help and support was invaluable.
